Ali-Reza Bhojani (PhD, Durham University) is Assistant Professor in Islamic Ethics in the Department of Theology & Religion at the University of Birmingham and an Honorary Fellow at the Al-Mahdi Institute. His work brings Islamic legal theory into conversation with contemporary philosophy, theology, and ethics through an interdisciplinary lens. In recent years, his research has included consideration of the ethical challenges posed by artificial intelligence, resulting in both sole-authored and collaborative publications. This work explores how AI can prompt new questions within Islamic thought, while also demonstrating how Islamic ethical traditions can contribute meaningfully to wider global debates on emerging technologies and shared human concerns.
