Dr. Dimitrios Vasiliadis

Founder and president of the Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture & Development and the Athens Center for Indian and Hellenic-Indian Studies

Dr. Dimitrios T. Vasiliadis is a Greek Indologist, teacher and writer. He studied Sanskrit, Hindi and Indian philosophy at Banaras Hindu University and introduced the teaching of Indian languages ​​at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he has been teaching since 2005. He is the founder and president of the Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture & Development and the Athens Center for Indian and Hellenic-Indian Studies. In 2022, he was honored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) with the “Bharat Mitra Samman -Distinguished Alumni” award for his significant achievements in Indology and his contributions to promoting understanding, goodwill, and friendship between India and Greece.
