Dr. Andreas Athanasakis is Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens. His research focuses on the history and philosophy of science, with particular emphasis on medieval and Renaissance cosmology and the relation between mathematical astronomy and natural philosophy. He has been awarded competitive scholarships from the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University, the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation, and the Onassis Foundation. He has published in international venues, including Brill and Springer, and has presented his work at international conferences and workshops. His academic work also includes contributions to edited volumes, encyclopedic scholarship, and translations of major works in the history and philosophy of science.
