Dr. Eva Steiner-Karatairi is Head of the Communications Unit at NCSR “Demokritos”.

Trained as a chemist and holding a PhD in Materials Science, she moved from the laboratory into science writing and strategic communication. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside researchers and innovators across disciplines ranging from materials science and climate to health and artificial intelligence, helping translate scientific advances and technological breakthroughs for policymakers, industry leaders, and society.

She is particularly interested in how science and emerging technologies can help societies navigate complexity, uncertainty, and change.
