Stelios Karozis is a Researcher at NCSR Demokritos, working at the intersection of AI, climate change, sustainability, and high-performance computing. His work focuses on developing computational methods that combine artificial intelligence with climate modelling to improve forecasting, generate climate data, and support decision-making for sustainability, resilience, and energy-related applications. He is also active in the development of HPC infrastructure and advanced computational tools that support large-scale scientific and technical workflows. He has advised the national AI committee on data management and AI infrastructure, contributed to the national study A Blueprint for Greece’s AI Transformation, and served as lead author of the horizon study on Generative AI in Greece. He also serves as Deputy Technical Coordinator of the PHAROS project, the Greek AI Factory, helping connect AI innovation, research infrastructure, and sustainable digital transformation.
