Radia Funna is the inventor of AWARE™, the first independently developed framework for comprehensively measuring artificial intelligence (AI) systems’ consumption from cradle to grave. She is the Founder and CEO of Build n Blaze; Lead Architect and Vice Chair of IEEE P7100, the world’s first international standard for measuring AI’s environmental impacts across energy, water, carbon, and hardware; and United Nations Special Advisor on Digital Technologies. She is currently leading development of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s National AI Policy.

Radia is the creator of the xHuman Theory, a foundational framework on the co-evolution of humans and machines that explores how emerging disruptive technologies transform people, institutions, and societies. She defined the ITU’s canonical metaverse, adopted by 193 Member States, and has led AI, quantum cybersecurity, spatial computing, immersive technology, and AgeTech governance across IEEE, ITU, ISO, and OECD.
