
Dr. Dimitrios Vasiliadis
Founder and president of the Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture & Development and the Athens Center for Indian and Hellenic-Indian Studies
Dr. Dimitrios T. Vasiliadis is a Greek Indologist, teacher and writer. He studied Sanskrit, Hindi and Indian philosophy at Banaras Hindu University and introduced the teaching of Indian languages at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he has been teaching since 2005. He is the founder and president of the Hellenic-Indian Society for Culture & Development and the Athens Center for Indian and Hellenic-Indian Studies. In 2022, he was honored by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) with the “Bharat Mitra Samman -Distinguished Alumni” award for his significant achievements in Indology and his contributions to promoting understanding, goodwill, and friendship between India and Greece.
